A Frenchs Forest Instant Scratch-Its player is having a very Merry Christmas after scoring one of the top prizes of $100,000 on a $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Skyline Newsagency, 18A Frenchs Forest Road, Frenchs Forest.
However, how the winner plans to enjoy their windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to stay completely anonymous and celebrate their festive win in private.
Skyline Newsagency owner James Fleming said he was thrilled to have sold the outlet’s biggest Instant Scratch-Its prize to date.
“We’ve been here for over 30 years and we’ve sold a few big prizes in our time, including a Powerball prize,” he explained.
“This is definitely the biggest Instant Scratch-Its prize we’ve sold so we are thrilled!
“We’ll be putting posters up so we can tell all of our customers we’ve had a winner.
“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the best with their prize and hope they enjoy their Christmas!”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said she was sure Frenchs Forest’s latest top prize winner would be having a festive season they would never forget.
“While we don’t know how our latest big Instant Scratch-Its winner will enjoy their prize, we have no doubt there might be a few more presents under their Christmas tree this December,” she said.
“Other winners have told us they use their windfall to upgrade their car, do renovations on their home, or go on a shopping spree.
“No matter how they enjoy their prize we are sure it has brought them plenty of Christmas cheer!”
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 151 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.8 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 29.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $235.25 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
