A Virginia mum is angling for the title of Best Mum Ever after declaring she’ll be spoiling her children with her $50,000 Keno prize.
The South Australian held a Keno Spot 8 winning entry in draw 2601118 on Friday 13 March 2020 and takes home $50,000.
Confirming her win with an official from the Lott this morning, the Adelaide player relived the moment she discovered her prize.
“I realised just after I bought the ticket,” she explained.
“When I checked my ticket and made the discovery I was so overwhelmed!
“I just kept saying ‘oh my god, oh my god, oh my god’.
“I was very emotional. It’s so nice to have some great news at the moment!
“It was a lovely surprise!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the South Australian mum had a few ideas.
“I will really enjoy my prize,” she said.
“I’m going to share it with my children and get some jobs done around the house.
“It’s all very exciting!”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Keno Spot 8 entry at Virginia Lotteries Kiosk, Shop 2a, Virginia Shopping Centre, Old Port Wakefield Road, Virginia.
Virginia Lotteries Kiosk owner Paul Pogas said the latest win continued the outlet’s winning streak.
“We’ve been on such a roll!” he exclaimed.
“We’ve sold about 11 division one winning entries over the years.
“Congratulations to our latest winner! It was amazing to see her face really light up when she found out she’d won!”
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, there were 27 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $5.98 million. The Spot 10 prize was won twice during this time – a win worth more than $1.7 million was won in Mansfield Park in October 2018, and a prize of more than $2.1 million was won in Findon in June 2019.
Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
