A Wamberal couple have declared they are ‘extremely happy’ after discovering they won division one in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.
The Central Coast husband and wife held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3891, drawn Wednesday 31 July 2019 and took home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
When a NSW Lotteries offical contacted the man to break the life-changing news this morning, he declared his complete disbelief.
“That can’t be true! I couldn’t have won a million dollars?” he questioned.
“I’m absolutely stunned, I don’t know what to say.
“You’d better chat to my wife!”
The happy winner immediately put his wife on the phone so she could hear the exciting news too.
“Oh my gosh! That’s lovely! I can’t get over it!” she exclaimed.
“Just wait until we tell the kids. I can’t wait to get off the phone so I can tell them we’ve won one million dollars.”
The happy husband confessed he never expected to win the big one.
“I’ve been playing the same numbers every week since Lotto started,” he explained.
“The most I’ve ever won is $500 and I was pretty happy with that!”
“I’ve always told him he was wasting his time but this win is just beautiful!” added his wife.
When asked how they planned to enjoy their windfall, the thrilled winners confessed they were still in shock.
“Give us a chance to think love!” joked the wife.
“We’ll probably give some to the kids and go on a trip! But I think we just have to let it sink in.
“We never thought we’d win anything as big as this ever.
“You’ve just made us so happy!”
The happy duo, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their 14-game marked entry at Nextra Erina Market, Shop T094, Erina Fair, 620-658 Terrigal Drive, Erina.
Nextra Erina Market manager Katy McHugh said she was thrilled her outlet had sold another division one winning entry.
“We are very, very excited!” she exclaimed.
“This is our second division one win for the year. The last one we sold was in April.
“We are thrilled for the winners and wish them all the best with their prize.
“Hopefully they come into the store so we can congratulate them in person and celebrate with them.
“We’re hoping we can sell another division one win this year and make it a hat trick!”
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3891 on Wednesday 31 July 2019 were 42, 16, 34, 19, 10 and 29 while the supplementary numbers were 22 and 44.
