A Bega couple have revealed they found themselves in a relentless loop of checking their lottery ticket after discovering they scored more than $620,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The New South Wales residents held one of the 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4579, drawn Saturday 7 June 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $627,568.96.
“Thank you, mate! Thank you very much!” the happy husband cheered when an official from The Lott called to confirm the win.
“We’re a bit shocked. We’ve been putting the same ticket on for years and years,” the winning wife added.
“We got the email saying we won something, but we were suspicious at first. We called our children, who said, ‘Don’t touch anything!’.
“They came over and we checked the winning numbers on The Lott website. Sure enough, the winning numbers matched our ticket.
“We we’re still trying to convince ourselves soI checked the winning numbers on my phone, then one of the kids checked them on their phone, then we checked on someone else's phone. We were going mad!
“It’s mind-blowing. We’re over the moon.”
When asked how they planned to use their newfound fortune, the winning duo revealed they were too stunned to make any immediate decisions.
“We’ll let the win sink in first! We’re still a bit in shock at the moment,” the winning wife laughed.
“It’ll definitely boost our retirement and I’m sure we’ll do something to celebrate.”
Their marked 14-game entry was purchased at Cignall Bega, Shop 1, 187-191 Carp Street, Bega.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4579 on 7 June 2025 were were 30, 26, 11, 22, 36 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 45.
Across Australia, there were 10 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4579 – three in New South Wales, four in Victoria, one each in Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 192 so far in 2025, including 53 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In 2024, Saturday Lotto created 149 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 316 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $400.2 million.
