A Bonnyrigg couple has unwrapped the most unforgettable wedding anniversary present from their daughter after their Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot ticket scored them a $200,000 windfall.

The Western Sydney pair won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1549, drawn Wednesday 3 November 2021.

So far in 2021, there have been four Lucky Lotteries major prize winning entries in the Western Sydney region, collectively worth more than $700,000.

The ticket was unregistered, so lottery officials had no way of contacting the winner to break the thrilling news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

The elated woman discovered her good fortune when she stopped into her local newsagency to check her tickets.

“Wow! It’s so exciting,” the winning woman laughed.

“I had just finished work and was on my way to grab a hot chicken for dinner. I remembered I received some lottery tickets from my daughter for my wedding anniversary!

“I stopped into the newsagency and scanned my ticket. The terminal told me to go the counter, and that’s when I found out that I’d won $200,000!

“I rang my daughter straight away. She burst  into tears. We’re just so grateful.

“Christmas is just around the corner. It has come at the most perfect time.

“We’ve always wanted to purchase a house, and now we can place a house deposit down.

“Thank you so much.”

The winning entry was purchased at Bonnyrigg Plaza Newsagent, Shop 22, Bonnyrigg Plaza Shopping Centre, 100 Bonnyrigg Avenue, Bonnyrigg.

Bonnyrigg Plaza Newsagent owner Jessie Chan said she was over the moon to see the winner has come forward and discovered their prize.

“We were expecting the winner to come in all day. We’re so excited, and so happy for the winner,” she shared.

“It was a wonderful moment when the winner came in and realised they won the 1st Prize. It certainly would’ve been a perfect way to end the day.

“Congratulations to the winner and we hope you enjoy every moment of the prize.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $4.60 million for draw 1550, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $3.88 million for draw 10501.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, 136 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $46.09 million.

During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by a Coolangatta man who scored a Mega Jackpot prize of $9.41 million in May 2021.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Australians took home more than 123.7 million prizes worth more than $3.62 billion from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno, Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.
