A Western Australian has emerged as the only division one winner in tonight’s $80 million Powerball draw, walking away with the entire jackpot prize after a six-week run.
The player held the only division one winning entry across the country in tonight’s Powerball draw 1333, drawn Thursday 2 December 2021.
This was the equal biggest prize won from any Australian lottery game so far this year.
The life-changing entry was purchased from Lotterywest.
Although one Western Australian snagged tonight’s incredible prize, The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said it was still a good idea for anyone who held an entry into tonight’s draw to check their tickets.
“After scoring the entire $80 million jackpot, the Western Australia player has officially secured their name in the Australian lottery books and shares the title of the nation’s third-biggest individual lottery winner,” he said.
“You may not have been the one that won division one tonight, but there was a total of 2.5 million prizes worth more than $45.14 million won in divisions two to nine in tonight’s draw.
“Among those winners were 14 division two winners, who each take home a prize worth $89,207.70.
“This was the third $80 million Powerball draw of 2021. In April this year, two New South Wales players shared the $80 million jackpot walking away with $40 million each.
“And then in August, a North Melbourne dad scooped up $80 million when he held the only division one winning entry in that draw. He officially became Victoria’s biggest lottery winner and the country’s third biggest winner.”
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1333 on Thursday 2 December 2021 were 27, 30, 4, 5, 33, 26 and 19 and the all-important Powerball number was 8.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1333 – the entry from Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 190 so far this financial year.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, 17 Powerball division one winners across Australia pocketed more than $519.8 million in prize money.
During this time, Powerball twice offered an $80 million jackpot – the biggest prize offered by any Australian lottery game.
Of the 17 Powerball division one winning entries in FY21, 10 landed in New South Wales, five in Queensland and two in Victoria.
