A Whyalla man has kissed the Monday blues goodbye after receiving a phone call this morning from lottery officials revealing his $1.8 million windfall in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The South Australian held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4347, drawn Saturday 18 March 2023 and took home $1,836,034.48.
So far in 2023, there have been six division one winning entries in South Australia, collectively worth more than $30.33 million in prize money.
“Are you calling me with some news? Have I won something?” the winning man questioned when an official from The Lott reached out this morning.
“Wow! Thank you very much!
“I’ll tell you what, I can’t explain how I’m feeling.
“I’m in total shock right now. I’ve been playing X Lotto for a very long time.
“I usually buy a QuickPick when I’m in a rush. I didn’t even choose these numbers!”
When asked if a new car or holiday was on the horizon, the long-time player shared he was too mind-boggled to think of any immediate plans.
“I wouldn’t have a clue as of yet, but I know it will go to good use,” he exclaimed.
“I’ll have to put my feet up today and relax!”
His winning 18-game QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4347 on 18 March 2023 were 6, 44, 21, 1, 43 and 15, while the supplementary numbers were 34 and 42.
Across Australia, there were three division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4347 – one each in South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 310 so far this financial year, including 22 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In 2022, Saturday X Lotto created 171 millionaires across Australia.
