A Williamstown man has kept his eyes on the prize quite literally, securing over $1.2 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw and promptly safeguarding his ticket.

The Melbourne resident held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4553, drawn Saturday 8 March 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,262,948.41.

When an official from The Lott called the regular player, he shared he’d been using the same numbers for decades.

“I’m very good!” he laughed.

“I’m so glad you’re calling because I haven’t been able to take my eyes off my ticket. It’s locked away safely at the moment!

“I checked my ticket Sunday morning, which I normally do, but this time, it obviously went completely different to how it normally goes.

“I was shocked, and it was sort of hard to believe. Even now, it’s going through my head and it’s still sinking in.

“I’m very, very happy. I’ve been celebrating all weekend!

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for decades now. There were no special numbers. Just willy nilly numbers I crossed off randomly on a ticket one day and I’ve been playing them ever since.

“It’s amazing. It’s completely life changing.

“I can use it towards retirement, and it’ll just make things so much easier. Thank you so much.”

His winning marked 12-game  entry was purchased from Altona Lotto, 88 - 90 Pier Street, Altona.

Altona Lotto owner Simon Jiao shared he was ecstatic to have sold a division one winning entry in the weekend’s draw.

“We are thrilled! It’s amazing news for our store,” he said.

“Before this, we had only sold one division one winning entry and that was over 30 years ago, so we couldn’t be more excited.

“We’d like to congratulate the winner, and we wish him all the best with the prize.

“We hope to sell another winning ticket again soon!”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4553 on 8 March 2025 were 28, 18, 38, 2, 16 and 29, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 4.
