A North Ryde woman is ready to enjoy some “breathing space” after scoring $100,000 in yesterday’s Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The Sydneysider held the 1st Prize-winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10846 on Monday 15 April 2024.

“Winner, winner, chicken dinner!” the winning woman exclaimed when her prize was confirmed by an official from The Lott.

“Fantastic! I’ve been playing Lucky Lotteries for about 30 years!

“I had a message saying to check my ticket and I had the ticket in my handbag so I checked it. When I did and saw the prize, I thought, ‘Oh!’.

“I initially thought when you were calling me that it was someone from private health insurance trying to get me to compare my policy, but this is much better. This is really great!

“It will just give us more breathing space in paying off the mortgage.

“Hopefully we’ll be able to squeeze a little holiday out of it as well.

“Thank you very much!”

Her winning entry of one random number was purchased at Coxs Road Newsagency, Shop 9, 203-213 Coxs Road, North Ryde.

Coxs Road Newsagency owner Hima Bindu Duddukuri said she was celebrating her outlet selling its first major prize-winning ticket since she took over ownership almost three years ago.

“We are overjoyed and excited to hear one of our local customers won 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot,” she said.

“Customers will be thrilled about us selling a 1st Prize-winning entry, especially after hearing a local person won it.

“The whole team at Coxs Road Newsagency congratulates the winner. We are so happy for you and wish you all the best.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $16.36 million for draw 1661, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $890,003 for draw 10847.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
