A Coonabarabran local or visitor to the region is happily spending the week deciding exactly how they’ll enjoy a spare $25,000 after scratching one of the top prizes on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The New South Wales player purchased their winning $2 Flip Flop Fun ticket at Coonabarabran Newsagency, 65 John Street, Coonabarabran.
However, how the winner plans to spend their $25,000 instant windfall will remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
Coonabarabran Newsagency owner Bill Robinson said he was over the moon for his latest winner.
“It’s always so nice to hear that one of our customers has won a major prize,” he said.
“We’ve sold a few top prize winning entries over the years and it’s always exciting.
“Congratulations to our latest winner. Well done!”
Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Lauren Cooney said there was no doubt the mystery winner was wearing a winning smile after scratching the top prize.
“What a lovely way to kick off the week, scratching a $25,000 prize,” she said.
“We have no doubt this player will enjoy every moment of their instant windfall.
“Other winners tell us they use their windfall to plan holidays, upgrade their car or renovate their homes.
“No matter how our winner plans to enjoy their prize we are sure they will be thrilled to see their bank account balloon by a few extra zeros!”
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 151 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.8 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 29.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $235.25 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
