Winter is set to heat up this week as Australians vie for the chance to win a slice of the combined prize pool of $100 million up for grabs across three separate lottery draws.
During the next seven days, the Lott is offering Aussie adults a triple treat, with three separate sizzling draws – Oz Lotto, Powerball and Saturday Lotto – offering a combined prize pool of $100 million.
As it’s the biggest week of Australian lottery offers so far this year, up to one-in-five adult Australians are expected to have an entry in some of the draws as they look to ignite their division one dreams.
For those looking for a chance to become an overnight millionaire, exclusive research has revealed those entry types that delivered the most division one wins during the 12 months to 30 June 2018.
Draw 1 – Tuesday’s $40 Million Oz Lotto:
- The week blasts off with Tuesday’s $40 million Oz Lotto draw 1275 on Tuesday 24 July 2018.
- Last financial year, 18 Oz Lotto division one winning entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions won more than $237 million.
- Two-thirds of these Oz Lotto division one wins were from marked entries – where players have selected the numbers on their games.
Draw 2 – Thursday’s $40 Million Powerball:
- Next in line is Thursday’s Powerball draw 1158, which after five weeks of jackpotting is offering the week’s second $40 million prize pool on Thursday 26 July 2018.
- Last financial year, 18 Powerball division one winning entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions won more than $249 million.
- Two-thirds of these division one Powerball wins were from QuickPick entries – where the numbers are randomly generated by the lottery terminal. One-in-five division one winning entries were also PowerHits – entries where the all-important Powerball number is guaranteed.
Draw 3 – Saturday’s $20 Million Lotto Superdraw:
- Closing the week is Saturday’s $20 Million Lotto Superdraw, draw 3863 on Saturday 28 July 2018.
- Last financial year, there were 290 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $341.27 million.
- These division one wins were won by a fairly even split of marked and QuickPick entries. In addition, one-in-ten of these division one winning entries were System entries – entries which allow you to pick more numbers.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he encouraged players to imagine how the rest of 2018 might look if they won a division one prize from one of the three multi-million-dollar draws.
“Becoming an overnight millionaire – or multi-millionaire – is guaranteed to chase any winter blues away! Imagine what you could do with if you won a share of the combined $100 million prize pool across the three draws!” he exclaimed.
“So far this calendar year, we’ve welcomed more than 220 division one wins across our games and we can’t wait to crown the next millionaires.
“Whether you decide to go with a QuickPick or marked entry, the best way to ensure you’re in with a chance to win a slice of the $100 million pie is to have an entry into these draws.
“We also recommend that people secure their entry early as we expect an influx of people at lottery outlets and online. After all, you do need an entry if you want a chance to win.”
Mr Hart said he also urged customers to register their entries to a player card, as not only did registration ensure your prize was secure, it also ensured you could be contacted directly with news of your division one win.
