A Wollongong mum says she’s still struggling to believe her good fortune, scoring a top prize of $25,000 on a free Instant Scratch-Its ticket she’d won.
The winning $2 Catch a Fortune Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at CTC Bulli, Shop 7, Woolworths Centre, Bulli.
Confirming her win with a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the regular player explained she initially thought she was seeing things when she scratched the winning ticket.
“I went to the newsagency to collect my winnings from my other Instant Scratch-Its ticket, I’d won a free ticket,” she explained.
“I scratched the free ticket I’d won as soon as I got it.
“When I first realised I’d won one of the top prizes I thought I was definitely reading the ticket incorrectly.
“It was so exciting. I couldn’t believe it!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant windfall, the generous woman said she already had a few ideas.
“I will certainly be spoiling my children,” she said.
“And I will definitely be going on an overseas holiday.
“A holiday is very overdue, I can’t wait!”
CTC Bulli owner Sunny Mand said it was the first time the outlet had sold a top prize winning ticket.
“It’s great to hear one of our local customers has picked up this amazing prize,” he said.
“Congratulations to her! We hope this is the beginning of many more exciting wins for our customers.”
In 2019, there were 114 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.61 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 27.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $208.8 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
