A Yarram couple has taken the day off work to relax in the knowledge $1 million is coming their way after scoring division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The happy duo held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4075, drawn Saturday 8 August 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,047,835.76.

When an official from the Lott confirmed the news with the winners this morning, the happy husband couldn’t help but laugh with glee.

“Thank you very much! That’s awesome! It’s so great!” he exclaimed.

“It’s very good timing with everything going on at the moment,” his wife added.

The overjoyed man revealed he had discovered the life-changing news over the weekend.

“We checked our ticket yesterday, but it’s nice to hear it officially confirmed,” he explained.

“I buy a QuickPick every week and haven’t won anything like this before.

“It’s pretty damn cool to think I’ll have a million dollars soon!”

When asked how they planned to enjoy life as a millionaire, the elated winner said he couldn’t wait to pay off their home loan.

“We will use it to get rid of our mortgage! It’s going to be completely amazing to be able to tick that box and say it’s done,” he declared.

“After that, we’ll just use it to keep our life simple. We’ve taken the day off work so we can relax and enjoy the win.”

The thrilled pair purchased their winning 50-game QuickPick entry at Amcal Pharmacy Yarram, 199 Commercial Road, Yarram.

Amcal Pharmacy Yarram owner Callum Walker-Chan said the division one winning news was a welcome boost for their community.

“It’s fantastic that someone in our regional town has won division one!” he exclaimed.

“Particularly during these difficult times where we are under restrictions, and everyone is concerned.

“We hope this brings some good news to our locals and encourages people to come and visit when the restrictions are lifted.

“We’ll be celebrating in store this week with our staff. We’ll be shouting all of our team members coffee and nibbles!

“We’ll also be sharing the exciting news that we’ve sold a major prize in our store with our wonderful customers.

“It’s a great way to show our customers that you’ve got to be in it to win it!

“This is our 11th division one winning entry from the past 15 years.

“It is a very fulfilling feeling knowing that we have helped someone take that major step closer to achieving their dreams.

“The township of Yarram is a great place to live, work and enjoy with lots of attractions in and around the town. We can also say we are a winning town!

“Congratulations to our winners on their big win! We hope that it brings them and their family happiness and is a bright spark during these tough times!”
