A Yeppoon man has vowed to buy his wife any diamond ring she wants after discovering he won $950,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Central Queenslander held one of the 21 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4489 on Saturday 27 July 2024. Each division one winning entry scored $952,380.96.
“I just won Gold Lotto?! Are you serious?!” the man cried when an official from The Lott confirmed his prize.
“I’m f***ing shaking!
“Punch me, I’m dreaming!
“You’ve got the best job in the world. You don’t know how much this changes our lives. It’s unbelievable!
“I don’t know what to do or say!
“It just sets us up! This sort of thing doesn’t happen to people like me and my wife. Usually, just when you feel like you’re getting ahead, something comes along and you’re knocked back a bit.
“I can’t believe it!
“I’m going to give my wife any diamond ring she wants. She’s going to get a big rock!
“We’ll also share the prize with our kids and pay off the mortgage.
“You wouldn’t believe how much this means to us.”
The man’s winning 36-game QuickPick was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4489 on 27 July 2024 were 4, 37, 45, 27, 11 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 10.
Across Australia, there were 21 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4489 – eight in Victoria, five in New South Wales, four in Queensland and two each in South Australia and Western Australia..
