First, a good wet season and now a Gold Lotto prize of almost $1 million – a Charters Towers woman in her 20s believes she’s enjoying a run of big wins.
The north Queenslander held one of the six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4149 on Saturday 24 April 2021. She pockets a division one prize worth $990,996.20.
While she checked her entry on Sunday, the woman confessed she didn’t dare believe the win was real until she spoke to an official from The Lott this morning.
“It’s bloody amazing!” she exclaimed.
“On Sunday, I just thought I’d have a look on the app, and it was saying I’d won.
“I just thought it was really weird. I didn’t know if it was real or not.
“Now that I’ve spoken to you, I can get excited now.
“I’ve only been playing for about five months – I just get a QuickPick. I can’t believe it!
“We were lucky out here in Charters Towers as we had a good wet season, and now I’m nearly a millionaire!
“I’m going to go home tonight and crack a beer.”
When asked how she might enjoy her almost-million-dollar fortune, the happy winner shared she planned to invest it so her family could enjoy it for many years to come.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 24-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4149 on 24 April 2021 were 32, 8, 31, 44, 4 and 2, while the supplementary numbers were 36 and 35.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4149 – three from Queensland, and one each from Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 347 so far this financial year, including 82 won by Golden Casket customers.
