A young tradie in his 20’s from Fitzroy was taken by surprise when he answered his phone this afternoon to the news he was $200,000 richer thanks to his entry in today’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Melbourne local won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1194, drawn Wednesday 9 January 2019.
Speaking to a Tatts official this afternoon to confirm his win there was a moment of silence before the winner happily exclaimed in shock.
“Whoa! That’s awesome! Thank you,” he said.
“I’ve been playing for a while but you never expect to get this phone call.
“It feels pretty good to hear!
“I’ve been playing other lottery games for a while and usually put a game on every week but I’ve only been playing Lucky Lotteries more recently.
“I’m still getting my head around it and letting it sink in.
“I’m not sure how I am going to celebrate but at least I don’t have to go back to work until next week so I have all weekend to think about it.”
When asked how he planned to spend his Lucky Lotteries windfall, the happy winner didn’t hesitate to share how he would enjoy it.
“I’ll probably buy a new car and go on a holiday!” he declared.
“I’m looking at Europe, a summer in Europe wouldn’t be too bad!”
The tradie, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry at Eastern Hill Lotto, Shop 2, 55 Victoria Parade, Fitzroy.
Eastern Hill Lotto team member Cindy Luo said she was thrilled to hear her outlet had sold a 1st Prize winning entry.
“We are so happy for our winner!” she exclaimed.
“We wish him all the best with his prize.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $35.56 million for draw 1195 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.58 million for draw 10266.
