A Forest Glen woman has thanked her generous friend for gifting her the best present she’s ever received, a $25,000 winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The Sunshine Coast woman scored one of the top prizes of $25,000 on a $2 ticket that her friend purchased at Forest Glen Newsagency, 1/347 Mons Road, Forest Glen.
Sharing her joy with an official from the Lott, the winning woman said she was still buzzing after making the thrilling discovery.
“It’s amazing. It’s very exciting!” she exclaimed.
“It’s overwhelming! I am so grateful and I feel so blessed.
“My friend bought the ticket for me as a thank you gift.
“When I scratched it, I didn’t think it was real!
“I thought it couldn’t possibly be true. I thought I had read the ticket wrong.
“It was incredibly exciting when the newsagency confirmed the good news. It wasn’t until then that I believed it was true!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant windfall, the young mum said she’d enjoy every second of her prize.
“It’s really going to help me get ahead,” she said.
“I’m going to pay a few bills and then spoil my family with the rest guilt-free.”
Forest Glen Newsagency owner Ken Lambert said the win marked a special milestone for the outlet.
“This is the first top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket we’ve sold,” he said.
“We’re thrilled and we hope this is the beginning of plenty of big wins for our customers!
“Congratulations to our winner. It’s great to see this prize go to a local.”
