A new diamond ring is high on the shopping list of a young Gawler woman who won a $1.45 million Saturday X Lotto prize on the weekend.
The happy winner held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4169, drawn Saturday 3 July 2021. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $1,455,804.95.
When an official from The Lott called the Adelaide woman, she was completely oblivious she had become an overnight millionaire.
“No, I didn’t! Are you serious? Are you kidding me?” she cried happily.
“Oh my god! That’s crazy!
“I had absolutely no idea! Oh my god! Oh my god!
“I only bought a ticket into this draw because I had purchased a Powerball ticket last week, and I didn’t win anything, so I thought I would play Saturday X Lotto instead.
“I only ever buy tickets into the really big draws, so I just don’t believe this! I would never usually buy myself a Saturday X Lotto ticket.
“When I bought the ticket, my partner said that if I became a millionaire, he’d be quitting his job!
“I can’t wait to break this news to him. I doubt he’ll want to finish off the day. He’ll probably jump straight in my car.
“Absolutely, I will celebrate today! I think I will take my family out for a really nice lunch.
“I can’t believe I am a millionaire! Thank you for making my day.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her million-dollar windfall, the jolly winner said it had come at the perfect time.
“We’ve been trying to save for a house for so long,” she admitted.
“So this means we can finally get our dream home!
“I also have been wanting a new diamond ring, so I might get myself one of those.
“And we might celebrate by going away for a weekend.”
The overjoyed winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 6-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4169 on 3 July 2021 were 7, 33, 2, 37, 42 and 27, while the supplementary numbers were 10 and 20.
