A young mum from Elizabeth has revealed she still can’t believe she is $50,000 richer from winning Keno Spot 8 in draw 2413616 drawn Friday 21 September 2018.
Speaking to an SA Lotteries official this afternoon to claim her prize, the young woman explained how she came to hold her winning Keno Spot 8 entry.
“I was out for lunch with my Mum and she likes to play Keno,” the happy winner said.
“So I thought I’d just put one on too! I couldn’t believe it when I saw my numbers come up on the screen!
“Mum is a little jealous I won and she didn’t, so I’m going to make sure I buy her something!”
The thrilled winner said she still hadn’t decided how she planned to spend her Keno Spot 8 windfall.
“I still don’t believe it. I don’t think I’ll believe it until I see it in my bank account,” she said.
“I will definitely use it to help my family – hopefully spend some more time at home!”
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning Spot 8 entry while having lunch at Red Lion Hotel, 173 Woodford Road, Elizabeth North.
Manager at the Red Lion Hotel, Stephen Firth, said he was thrilled for the local winner.
“It was just wonderful!” he exclaimed.
“Everyone here was so happy for our customer. It’s always great when a local and a regular wins a big prize.
“We had been hoping for a big win for a while, so it’s great we’ve finally got one!
“We wish the winner all the best with their prize!”
Last financial year, there were 19 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who landed more than $4.52 million. Spot 10 was won twice during this time – a prize of more than $2.017 million in December 2017 and a prize of more than $1.474 million in April 2018.
Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
