A young family man is planning a bucket list trip after winning one of the top prizes of $250,000 on a $10 Jackpot Instant Scratch-Its ticket he received as a Father’s Day gift.
The winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Settlement City Newsagency, Shop 17, Settlement City Shopping Centre, Port Macquarie.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm his prize, the happy winner shared he received the Instant Scratch-Its ticket as a gift.
“It was a Father’s Day gift,” he said.
“I was sitting in the car and decided to scratch it because we had just arrived home from a family Father’s Day fishing trip.
“I had three tickets and it was the third one I scratched. My wife was hopping out of the car and I just said ‘hold on, wait a second, look at this!’
“We were sitting there, sweating for about five minutes trying to figure out what was going on.”
When asked what he planned to do with his Father’s Day instant win, the young family man admitted it would help his family tick off their ultimate travel bucket list.
“We always said the first thing we would do if we won a top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket would be go and have a cup of tea and that is exactly what we did,” he laughed.
“We would love to go to Europe, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia and have cups of tea there too.
“Imagine having a cup of tea in London, now that would be great!
“We’d also love to do a trip around Australia - maybe go to Port Douglas and the Great Barrier Reef!
“A nice relaxing holiday with the family sounds perfect.
“For me, it’s all about making memories with family, rather than buying a lot of random stuff.”
Settlement City Newsagency owners Paul and Susan Marshall said they were ecstatic to have sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“We are extremely happy! It’s great news for the customer and Port Macquarie,” Paul said.
“We have sold a few top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its tickets and division one entries in the past.
“We hope we have some more wins! We welcome any wins in our store.
“We love delivering wins to our customers.”
Last financial year, there were 158 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.28 million.
