An Ormeau mum has declared “You’ve made my life!” and is ready to treat her family following her division one win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The woman’s entry was one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3871 on 27 August 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $603,397.66.
When a Golden Casket spokesperson contacted the Gold Coast’s newest division one winner this morning, she confessed she discovered her life-changing news yesterday.
“I didn’t sleep a wink last night!” she laughed.
“I checked my ticket yesterday online. I scanned my ticket and I thought ‘Gosh that line has four numbers’ and then I saw six numbers. Then I thought ‘Oh I’ve got the wrong week’. But then I realised I really had won!
“It left me a bit breathless! It’s amazing.
“You’ve made my life!”
The regular Gold Lotto player shared she had marked her entry using special numbers, including family birthdates.
She also plans to share some of her windfall with those at the top of her Lotto List – her cherished family.
“I’ve been thinking about what we might do and how it will benefit the family,” she said.
“But we haven’t celebrated just yet. I was waiting to get confirmation that it was true!”
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning marked 12-game entry at Ormeau Newsagency, Shop 11, Ormeau Centre, Lot 3, Vaughan Drive, Ormeau.
Ormeau Newsagency team member Donna Stapleton said she was ecstatic her outlet had sold another division one winning entry.
“The last time we sold a division one ticket was in 2013 and this latest one is the fourth in the past 18 years,” she said.
“We were the only Queensland outlet to sell division one on the weekend. Hopefully the luck is back in store and we’re on a roll.
“Every time I scanned a ticket this morning I was thinking ‘maybe it’s you!’. We wish our winner all the very best with their prize.”

One Helensvale shopper has yet to collect their division one prize from Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3867 on 11 August 2018.
The winning entry scored a division one prize of $671,513.12 and was purchased at Golden Lucky News, Shop 1040, Westfield Helensvale, 1-29 Millaroo Drive, Helensvale.
The winning entry is not registered to a Winners Circle Card which means Golden Casket officials have no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news.
Anyone who thinks they are holding the division one winning ticket should contact Golden Casket on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming their prize.
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto and Saturday Gold Lotto have created 119 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3871 on Saturday 25 August 2018 were 29, 18, 5, 31, 35 and 15, while the supplementary numbers were 9 and 36.
Across Australia there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3871 – two each from Victoria and Western Australia, and one each from Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 267 so far this calendar year, including 61 won by Golden Casket customers.
