A Townsville retiree is celebrating with some “tea and finger buns”, after today discovering she won one of the top prizes of $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The top prize winning $1 Reno Riches Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Stuart Drive Food & News, Shop 9, 344 Stuart Drive, Wulguru.

Speaking with a Golden Casket official this morning, the emotional woman broke down in tears as her prize was confirmed.

“I’ve never won anything in my life,” she cried happily.

“This is a gold mine to me!

“You have no idea how much this means to me.

“When I scratched the ticket and I saw I won, I almost had a heart attack.

“I broke down crying! I am still crying. I am really emotional.

“I would have been happy with $1,000, so this is just amazing.

“You have made my day so great! Gosh, this is nice!

“Oh my god lovey! I am so happy!”

When asked how she planned use her instant windfall, the ecstatic woman admitted she had a few ideas of how to spend it.

“We’ve been affected by the floods so this will help so much,” she admitted.

“It’s been hard these past few years and this will just help a lot.

“I am going to pay off my bills and get myself a few new nice dresses.

“I might also buy a few things I need around the house and the rest I will save for a rainy day.

“I will celebrate when the money is in my account with a cup of tea and some finger buns, they’re my favourite.”

Stuart Drive Food & News team member Alex O’Neil said the staff at the outlet were celebrating selling the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

“It is very exciting for the community and for the winner, especially since she was impacted by the floods,” she said.

“She is a very deserving winner. We wish her all the best with her prize and hope she enjoys it.

“We are thrilled! We have been telling all of our customers and are happily celebrating.

“Hopefully we sell some more big winning tickets soon! We are certainly feeling lucky now.

“We have sold some big prizes in the past but you were due for another, so we are very happy to have helped deliver a win to our customer.”
