A Gordon Park man admits he’s still feeling shocked and waiting to be woken up from a lovely dream after discovering he’d bagged $15 million in this week’s Oz Lotto draw.
The Brisbane resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Oz Lotto draw 1566, drawn Tuesday 20 February 2024 and took home a total prize of $15,000,000.00.
“This is blowing my mind!” the elated winner exclaimed when an official from The Lott called to confirm his prize.
“My wife and I work really hard, but we won’t be stopping as a result of this win.
“It will allow us to cut back on our hours, though, which is a huge relief.
“We’ve also been trying to prepare for our future and invest, and this is really going to kickstart the rest of our lives.
“I honestly can’t believe it.
“I’m feeling quite calm, but I think that’s because the gravity of the situation hasn’t yet hit me.
“When I see all of those numbers hit my bank account, that’s when it will hit me.
“Thank you so much.”
The man’s winning marked two-game System 8 entry was purchased via The Lott App – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1566 on Tuesday 20 February 2024 were 11, 39, 24, 33, 7, 43 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 26, 44 and 27.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Oz Lotto draw 1566 – One each in Queensland and New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 272 so far in FY24, including 64 won by Golden Casket customers.
In 2023, 16 Oz Lotto division one winning across Australia collectively won more than $330.8 million.
During this time, Oz Lotto offered a $90 million jackpot – the second biggest in the game’s 30-year history – which was shared by three New South Wales winners.
Of the 16 Oz Lotto division one winning entries in 2023, six landed in New South Wales, three in Victoria, two each in Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia and one South Australia.
