A mystery Southern Sydney shopper became $20 million richer, while members of a 20-strong Melbourne syndicate each became millionaires from tonight’s Powerball draw.

There were two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1433, drawn Thursday 2 November 2023. Each division one winning entry scored $20 million.

Officials from The Lott are urging players in tonight’s Powerball draw to check their tickets as soon as possible.

Mystery Southern Sydney player scores $20 million

It’s possible someone in New South Wales is going to sleep this evening completely unaware they won $20 million in tonight’s Powerball draw.

The mystery player held one of the two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1433.

As the winning entry was unregistered, officials from The Lott had no way to contact the ticketholder to confirm the $20 million prize. Instead, they’re waiting for the winner to make contact to start the prize claim process.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said someone’s life had just changed forever, but they might not yet have realised it.

“Imagine going to bed tonight not knowing you’ve just won $20 million? That’s the reality for one New South Wales player after scoring a slice of the division one prize in tonight’s Powerball draw!” he exclaimed.

“All we know is that this ticket was purchased at One Stop Shop in Kirrawee, Southern Sydney. As the ticket is not registered to a player card or online account, we are unable to make a mind-blowing phone call to them this evening.

“That is why we are encouraging everyone who purchased a ticket into this week’s Powerball draw to check their entries as soon as possible because they may be the multi-millionaire we are searching for!

“While we are unable to confirm the win with tonight’s winner, we can guarantee that when they discover the news, it’s sure to be met with a heady mix of shock and excitement!”

Melbourne welcomes 20 new Powerball millionaires

Twenty Victorian shoppers will be dancing their way into the weekend after they each scored $1 million from tonight’s Powerball draw.

Their 20-person group syndicate held one of the two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1433.

In addition to scoring division one, the syndicate’s PowerHit entry also won multiple divisional prizes, bolstering the group’s total windfall to $20,449,469.40.

Each syndicate member took home $1,022,473.47.

However, some members of the winning Victorian syndicate may have yet to realise their newfound fortune, prompting lottery officials to urge players to check their tickets as soon as possible.

The syndicate was set up by Vic Market Lotto, 82 Therry Street, Melbourne, with shares sold at nine other Tatts outlets across the city:

  • 18 Lucky Lotto (12 shares)
  • Central Lotto (1 share)
  • Manor Lakes News & Lotto (1 share)
  • Narre Warren Newsagency & Lotto (1 share)
  • Spring Hill News (1 share)
  • Springvale Authorised Newsagency & Lotto (1 share)
  • Strathmore Post & Lotto (1 share)
  • Sunshine Lucky Lotto (1 share)
  • Victoria Gardens Lotto (1 share)

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said some syndicate members held unregistered entries and might have yet to discover their winning news.

“While members of this winning group might not know each other, they are now united by the fact that tonight they each became a Powerball millionaire,” he said.

“Some of these division one winning syndicate members have already begun celebrating their good fortune knowing their bank account is about to be boosted with more than $1 million.

“While we’ll be reaching out to those winners who are registered, there are still some unregistered syndicate members who may have yet to discover their good news.

“If you purchased a share in a syndicate for the week’s Powerball draw, today’s the day to check it!

“If you discover you’re holding a winning share, call The Lott on 131 868 to start the prize claim process!”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1433 on Thursday 2 November 2023 were 23, 30, 11, 8, 12, 22 and 6. The all-important Powerball number was 15.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1433 – one each in New South Wales and Victoria.
