A Sunnybank man says he’s never cried more in his entire life than he did yesterday when he realised he’d scratched a $100,000 prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize winning $5 SCRABBLETM Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at TSG & Newsagency Jackson Road Shopping Village, Shop 11B, 397 Hellawell Road, Sunnybank Hills.
Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott this morning, the Queensland man reflected on the moment he discovered his life-changing prize.
“I’ve never cried as much as I did yesterday,” he laughed.
“It was unbelievable. Unbelievable!
“It still hasn’t hit me!
“I went down to the newsagency yesterday to grab a drink and thought I’d get a scratchie. I scratched it right away and initially I thought I’d won $10,000.
“I was so excited.
“It wasn’t until I claimed the prize that they told me I’d won $100,000.
“I couldn’t believe it. It was such a good day. I was in tears.
“It’s amazing!”
When asked what he thought he might do with an extra $100,000 in his bank account, the ecstatic winner didn’t need a moment to think about it.
“I’m going to be debt free!” he declared.
“I’ll pay off the rest of my mortgage and upgrade the home.
“It is very exciting. It’s great!”
TSG & Newsagency Jackson Road Shopping Village manager Binita Nguyen manager said the outlet was delighted to see their customer win $100,000.
“This is great news!” she exclaimed.
“We haven’t sold a top prize winning ticket for quite some time, so this is very exciting.
“We hope this is the beginning of plenty more big wins for our customers.
“Congratulations to him!”
