An Albury retiree is busy planning his next holiday after discovering his Saturday Lotto entry scored him a division one prize in the weekend’s draw.
The New South Wales player held one of the ten division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3989, drawn Saturday 12 October 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $382,311.53.
In addition to winning division one, the man’s System 8 entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 15 times, boosting his total win to $393,878.18.
Sharing his excitement with a NSW Lotteries official this morning when confirming his prize, the winner relived the life-changing revelation.
“It was a very nice surprise,” he laughed.
“Thank you very much. It’s great to hear this is real.
“It’s going to be very handy I can tell you that.
“I checked my ticket on Saturday night. I couldn’t believe it. I thought I was seeing things.
“It was a very delightful evening, one I will certainly never forget.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the man revealed he’d use it to relish every moment of his retirement.
“This will certainly change my retirement plans,” he said.
“I’ll be able to do a little bit more traveling now.
“And I’ll invest some of it. It will be a nice little nest egg for my retirement.”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 193 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3989 on Saturday 12 October 2019 were 6, 33, 16, 27, 17 and 8, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 28.
Across Australia, there were ten division one entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3989, three from Victoria, two each from New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, and one from Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 290 so far this calendar year, including 82 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, there were 244 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $286.6 million.
