An Albury man said he was “screaming on the inside” when he checked his Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot ticket he purchased two weeks ago and discovered he won $100,000.

The New South Wales player won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10400, drawn Wednesday 12 August 2020.

The ticket was unregistered, so officials from the Lott had no way of contacting the winner to break the news and had to wait for him to come forward to claim his prize.

Speaking with an official from the Lott this morning, the overjoyed man admitted he had completely forgotten he’d purchased the ticket.

“Then when I was running some errands, I remembered I hadn’t checked it, so I went to the newsagency,” he shared.

“That’s when I found out. I was shocked!

“I just went completely silent. It’s crazy!

“I was screaming on the inside, but on the outside, I probably just looked stunned.

“I told my wife and she was very happy, as you can imagine.

“We went out for a nice dinner to celebrate. It was good.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his unexpected windfall, the stoked bloke said he was so overwhelmed by the news that he didn’t know what to do with his prize.

“We’ve been trying to think about what to do with it, but we still aren’t sure,” he admitted.

“We will put it in the bank and just stew on it.

“I am sure there will be something nice in there for us, but honestly we really just don’t know.

“I never thought I would actually win this much money, so I’ve never considered what I would do with it.”

The winning entry was purchased at Beckers Newsagency, Shop 2, 483 Dean Street, Albury.

Beckers Newsagency owner David Becker said he couldn’t be happier for his winner.

“It’s great news!” he said.

“It’s very exciting.

“He came in and said ‘Guess what, you guys sold me a winning ticket!’. Then he gave us a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine as a thank you.

“He was very pleased. He’s an incredibly deserving winner and we wish him all the best with his prize.

“We hope we can sell some more major prize winning tickets! It’s always a thrill.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1 million for draw 1499 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $3.10 million for draw 10404.
