Coober Pedy might be tiny, but this outback town is home to some big wins – with another player scoring a X Lotto division one prize, but first, they need to check their ticket.
The latest South Australian winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4140, drawn 20 December 2021. They take home a $1 million prize.
The winning entry is unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner. Instead, they must wait for the ticketholder to check their ticket and discover the life-changing news.
The winning entry was purchased at Coober Pedy IGA Fresh, 28 Hutchison Street, Coober Pedy.
Coober Pedy IGA Fresh is the only outlet in South Australia to have sold two division one lottery prizes in 2021.
In May this year, the outlet sold a Saturday X Lotto division one prize worth $409,991.02.
Coober Pedy IGA Fresh manager Jean Eborlas said she was eager to unite their latest big winner with their prize.
“It’s very exciting for us and the winners. We’ll be celebrating the news with some champagne,” she said.
“Hopefully, the winner discovers this fantastic news soon. It would certainly make for a great Christmas and new year.
“Our customers are so happy for the winner and are hoping they’re next to win big.
“This is the second division one win we’ve sold this year. Hopefully, we will have many more major prize winning tickets next year.”
The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said the mystery winner could be going about their day as normal, with no idea they’ve just won $1 million.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4140 on Monday 20 December 2021 were 6, 40, 19, 23, 17 and 16, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 7.
