Almost a week after the draw, a Dunedoo man has come forward to claim his $200,000 Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize.
The New South Wales player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1429, drawn Friday 16 August 2019.
When a NSW Lotteries official contacted the man this morning to break the life-changing news, he admitted he had no idea he had won the prize.
“Are you serious?” he questioned.
“Oh my god! I am stunned!
“Are you honestly serious? Please tell me you aren’t joking.
“You’re not wrong? This is very surreal.
“I’m just so shocked.
“I might have to do some celebrating tonight.
“You always hope to win, but you never think it will happen!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the happy man said that while he’d need some time to think, he did have some ideas.
“I need to get over the shock. I have no idea what I will do with it,” he laughed.
“I will probably do some renovations on my house. That’s something I have been wanting to do for a while!
“The rest I’ll probably keep for a rainy day.”
The thrilled player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of ten consecutive numbers at Dunedoo Newsagency, 46 Bolaro Street, Dunedoo.
Dunedoo Newsagency owner Adrian Lane said he was thrilled the prize had gone to a local customer.
“We are so glad the winner has come forward to claim his prize,” he said.
“It is such a great feeling to know we’ve made someone’s day.
“Times have been tough here in Dunedoo because of the drought, so we are thrilled it went to a local customer.
“All our customers are so happy for our winner. It’s great news for our small country town and for our community.
“We wish our winner all the very best with his prize and hope he enjoys it.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $93.64 million for draw 1437 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $3.36 million for draw 10307.
