Aussies looking for an especially auspicious start to 2025 will be vying for the chance to become a millionaire in this weekend’s Saturday Lotto $30 Million Megadraw.

Up to a third of Australian adults are expected to have their hands on a ticket into the annual draw that has a reputation for creating more millionaires in a single night than any other draw.

On Saturday 4 January 2025, the day of the draw, more than 3,000 Lotto tickets a minute are expected to be sold in-store and online at peak times.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said winning a share of the $30 million jackpot would certainly put a spring in your step heading into 2025.

“If previous years’ Megadraws are anything to go by, this weekend we could be welcoming a batch of newly minted millionaires across Australia,” he said.

“I’m sure it would help kickstart a very happy 2025 and beyond for any division one winners. You’d really have something to celebrate this January with a division one prize in your pocket.

“The last Megadraw, in December 2023, saw 13 division one winning entries share the jackpot, each taking home $2.3 million.

“Imagine what incredible experiences 2025 could hold for you and your loved ones if you won a share of $30 million! I’ll be calling any registered division one winners on Sunday – certainly one way to start 2025 on a high.”

While Lotto is a game of chance and every number has an equal chance of being drawn, The Lott can reveal the most frequently and least frequently drawn Lotto numbers during the past 39 years.

The most frequently drawn, or ‘hot’, numbers during this time were 1, 11, 8 and 7.

Meanwhile, the least frequently drawn, or ‘cold’ numbers were 44, 27, 14 and 28.

Mr Hart said this weekend could see a select group of Aussies join the illustrious list of lottery winners whose lives were transformed forever.

“Last year, there were more than 500 division one winning entries that collectively won more than $1.68 billion,” he said.

“We also saw two records broken in 2024 - we had a $200 million Powerball draw, the biggest jackpot ever seen in Australia, and an Adelaide man pocketed $150 million and became the nation’s biggest individual lottery winner. Who knows what will happen in 2025!

“For anyone buying an entry into the $30 Million Megadraw, I recommend that you get in early and register your entry to The Lott Members Club – either in-store or online. This means your prize is secure and we can call you with the amazing news should you be holding a division one winning entry.”

Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw, draw 4535, will take place on Saturday 4 January 2025.

Tickets can be purchased at any licensed lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app before the draw close at 7.30pm AEST on 4 January 2025.
