An Ayr man has confessed he spilled his coffee and thought he’d lost his mind after nonchalantly checking his Saturday Gold Lotto entry and discovering his $700,000 win.
The North Queenslander held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4435 on Saturday 20 January 2024. Each division one winning entry pocketed $708,128.64.
“I lost my coffee when I checked my ticket! I couldn’t believe it, then I realised my coffee was all over the floor,” the winning man laughed when an official from The Lott called to confirm his windfall.
“To be honest, I’m not really sure how to feel either.
“You always think, ‘I’d love to win one of these one day.’
“When you do though, I guess you just fall into a state of shock.
“I’ve used these numbers for many years and always thought they were the right ones to have.
“Finally, they worked for me.
“The future is going to be great, and I can’t wait to see what it holds for me and my family.”
