Four members of a Ballarat family have begun making plans for how they will spend their share of $608,000 after winning division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The thrilled private family syndicate hold one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3871 drawn Saturday 25 August. Each takes home a division one prize of $603,397.66.

As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the family syndicate also won division three six times bolstering their total prize to $608,070.46.

When speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm the win, the syndicate leader revealed he was pleased to share the win with his close family members.

“It’s a family syndicate with four family members so we will all be really happy with that!” the winner exclaimed.

“I’ll probably pay a bit off the mortgage with my share.

“One of the family members is on a holiday at the moment so I would say they will extend their holiday after I break the news!

“We’ve been doing this for a while, at least a couple of years.

“We all just chose a few numbers.”

The winner revealed he was excited about sharing the news with his fellow syndicate members.

“I just hope that I don’t give them a heart attack!”

The syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased their System 7 marked entry from Williams Newsagency Ballarat, 917 Sturt Street, Ballarat.

Bruce Thomson, owner of Williams Newsagency Ballarat, said he was thrilled to have sold the outlet’s third division one winning entry.

“This is the third time we’ve sold a division one winning entry but the last two were a couple of years ago,” he explained.

“They were sold exactly a month apart so we are hoping it happens like that again or we sell another one in this weekend’s $20 million Superdraw.

“We’ve had a lot of fun telling our customers we’ve sold a division one winning entry today!”
