A Ballina woman couldn’t help but burst into tears when a visit to her local newsagency led her to discover she’d scratched her way to a $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its top prize win.
The Northern Rivers resident’s winning $5 Sizzling Hot 7s Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Ballina Fair Newsagency, Shop 6 Ballina Fair, 84 Kerr Street, Ballina.
“I’m mighty fine!” she said when an official from The Lott rang to confirm her prize.
“It’s been a complete shock to the system.
“I’ve been buying Instant Scratch-Its tickets for years now, and I’ve never won anything like this. I guess the big one was waiting for me all this time.
“I burst into tears when I checked my ticket at the newsagency. I was astounded and grateful.
“It still doesn’t feel real.”
Despite being stunned, the winning woman shared the prize would make a real difference.
“Life has been a little tough and this is going to change things,” she shared.
“We’ll save most of it for a rainy day, but I think a little holiday is in order.”
