A Bathurst man had 100,000 reasons to start his weekend early on Friday after his workday was interrupted by the revelation he’d won the 1st Prize in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The New South Wales man held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10852 on Friday 24 May 2024. In addition to his $100,000 prize, he also scored a consolation prize of $1,000.

‘F***ing ripper!” the man exclaimed when his prize was revealed by an official from The Lott.

“I’ve been waiting for this call for a long time! I’ve been buying lottery tickets for 30 years.

“Every week on my way to work, I buy a lottery ticket.

“I won $100 once – that’s the most I’ve won.

“I appreciate your phone call. You bring great news!

“I can’t wait to knock off a large chunk from my mortgage. It won’t wipe it out completely, but it will go a long way.

“I’m just at work now but I’ll be having a few beers this afternoon to celebrate!”

The man’s winning entry of five consecutive numbers was purchased at Keppel Street Newsagency, 53 Keppel Street, Bathurst.

Keppel Street Newsagency owner Urvish Damwala said he was thrilled to see another win land in Bathurst.

“We’re really happy for our winner. He was very excited when he came into the store and said after 30 years he’d finally cracked it!” he said.

“We took over the business in 2023, and since then, we’ve sold three major syndicate winning entries and this Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot entry.

“We’re hoping for more wins from here in the near future!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $19.48 million for draw 1674, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.67 million for draw 10853.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
