A Bicheno man is ready to rev up his yard work, excited to splurge on a shiny new lawn mower after his $1.2 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The elusive player held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4513, drawn Saturday 19 October 2024. Each division one winning entry scored $1,264,652.43.
The winning entry was not registered to a player card, so officials from The Lott had to wait for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward to start the prize claim process.
So far this year, Tasmanians have taken home nine division one winning entries worth more than $12.28 million.
It wasn’t until earlier this morning that the retiree finally checked his ticket and was over the moon to find out he’d just joined the division one winner’s club.
“It’s unbelievable!” he exclaimed.
“I only discovered the news about 30 minutes ago. It’s very fresh!
“I’ve been playing for 40-odd years, and to be honest with you, I only play spasmodically – very lazily!
“I feel very lucky.
“I’ll be helping my children with the prize, but also treating myself to a new lawn mower! I could probably buy 1,000 lawn mowers!
“Thank you very, very much.”
His winning entry was purchased at Bicheno Newsagency, 41 Foster Street, Bicheno.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4513 on 19 October 2024 were 26, 15, 33, 43, 22, 5, while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 11.
