A Broadmeadows shopper is heading into the weekend $10,000 richer after scratching one of the top prizes on a $1 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Olsen Place Lotto, 13 Nepean St, Broadmeadows.
How the happy winner plans to enjoy their $10,000 instant windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
Olsen Place Lotto owner Tripti Narang said the team at the outlet were very excited to discover the news they had sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“We are so happy for our customer and we are very happy for our store too!” she exclaimed.
“We will let all of our customers know about it so they know we are a lucky outlet.
“We haven’t sold any top prizes since we bought the outlet so we are very excited and happy.
“Good luck to our customer! We wish them many many congratulations!”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said that while we may never know how this winner plans to enjoy their windfall we are certain scratching the win is a moment they’ll never forget.
“There is no doubt that instantly scoring $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket would be a life-changing moment!” she exclaimed.
“Other winners have told us that in that moment they often can’t believe their eyes and it usually takes a moment or two to sink in.
“Once it has sunk in our winners tell us they often use their windfall to travel on overseas holidays, buy new cars or do some renovations around their homes.
“However our winner plans to enjoy their prize we are sure they will never forget the moment they discovered they were a top prize winner!”
In 2018, there were 155 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.26 million.
During this same time, there were 25,716,051 winners across all Instant Scratch-Its prize tiers in the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $205.8 million.
It can happen in an instant. It can happen to you.
