A Burwood woman was overjoyed to discover a phone call she initially thought was a scam was instead lottery officials calling to confirm her $200,000 win in today’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

The Sydney player won the 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1572, drawn Wednesday 18 May 2022.

This afternoon, an official from The Lott reached out to the winner, who was busy at work and utterly oblivious to her win.

“Oh my gosh! This is the call I’ve always wanted to receive,” she giggled.

“I didn’t recognise your number, so I thought it was a scam call!

“Oh my god, oh my god! I can’t believe it.

“Are you sure this isn’t a scam? It sounds too good to be true! Promise me this isn’t a scam?

“This feels so weird. I love you so much! You’re an absolute blessing!

“This is so awesome. I’m crying right now! I’ve got tears rolling down my face. I’m so happy!

“I can’t wait to call my husband with the news. I’m sure he’ll want to take the rest of the day off work to celebrate.

“This completely takes the pressure off.

“We’ll use the prize to pay off our mortgage and go on a little holiday. We’ll have to splurge a little, too!”

Her winning entry of five random numbers was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $10.13 million for draw 1573, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $13.27 million for draw 10573.

In 2021, 127 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $32.95 million.
