A Campbelltown man says he’s found himself in a dream after receiving a phone call with the news he’s always fantasied about - that he’s a division one winner.
The Sydney resident held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3999, drawn Saturday 16 November 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $659,502.54.
A NSW Lotteries official finally got hold of the winner this morning, after a day of unsuccessful attempts.
“Are you kidding me?” he questioned.
“Is this a joke?
“Oh wow. Just wow. Oh my god.
“You dream of these things, you hear about the winners, but you never think it will happen to you.
“I saw I had missed a couple of phone calls, but I didn’t for a second think it would be NSW Lotteries calling me with this news!
“This is a life-changing amount of money.
“I feel like I’m in a dream. It’s unbelievable.
“This is just amazing. I cannot believe I’m getting this call.
The winner revealed he was a regular Saturday Lotto player but had almost missed out on his life-changing fortune.
“Every Saturday I think ‘this Saturday is going to be the draw!’” he said.
“But on the weekend I had forgotten to put the ticket in, I think I only bought it less than an hour before the draw.
“Thankfully I remembered in time!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his incredible windfall, the hardworking Sydney resident said he’d bid farewell to any financial stress.
“I thought I’d be working for another one hundred years but this certainly changes things,” he laughed.
“I will definitely pay the mortgage off and not having to worry about the mortgage will be an incredible feeling.
“This is the best news, it truly is amazing. I am so grateful!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 193 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3999 on Saturday 16 November 2019 were 22, 11, 32, 31, 28 and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 14 and 21.
Across Australia, there were six division one entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3999 – two each from New South Wales and Victoria and one each from South Australia and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 332 so far this calendar year, including 97 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, there were 244 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $286.6 million.
