A Canberra woman has admitted she almost ignored the call informing her she won $100,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries draw, but instead, answered it because she had a feeling there would be good news on the other end.

The winner held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10439, drawn Thursday 28 January 2021.

This afternoon, an official from The Lott spoke to the winner, who erupted into cheers upon hearing the news.

“You’re joking?” she questioned.

“$100,000? Oh my goodness!

“Oh god! This is so overwhelming!

“I never answer calls if I don’t know the number, or it’s a private number, but for some reason, I just had a feeling I needed to answer this call.

“I am so glad I did! This is the most amazing call I’ve ever received.

“I have always dreamt of this moment, but now it’s happened, it feels so strange!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the elated winner said she was in need of a holiday.

“I definitely want to do some travelling,” she shared.

“There will probably be a few road trips around Australia.

“We will do a big celebration too, but otherwise, I am not sure what else I will do. I have never actually thought about what I would do if I won!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her entry of ten random numbers from Calwell Newsagency, Shop 22, Calwell Shopping Centre, 7 Webber Crescent, Calwell.

Calwell Newsagency owner Geoffrey Boyd said he and his team were thrilled for their winner.

“It’s incredible news,” he said.

“What an incredible prize our customer has scored!

“We would love to send our congratulations to her and we wish her all the best.

“Honestly, we couldn’t be happier for our winner! We might even be as happy as they are about winning.

“Hopefully this is the beginning of a winning streak.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $5.32 million for draw 1517, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $2.32 million for draw 10440.
