A Capalaba couple are finally allowing themselves to celebrate their million-dollar Gold Lotto win after initially doubting the life-changing news was true.
The Redland residents held the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4147, drawn Wednesday 12 January 2022, and pocketed $1 million.
Confirming their win with an official from The Lott this morning, the mind-boggled woman revealed the pair didn’t sleep a wink after discovering their newfound wealth.
“I discovered the win last night and we couldn’t sleep! It’s surreal!” she laughed.
“Last night, I told my husband that I was checking the lottery results and he said to me, ‘It’s probably only going to be $10’.
“I turned around to him and yelled, ‘Oh my god!’. He said to me, ‘Is it $10?’. I said, ’No! It’s a million-dollars!’.
“He told me to not get too excited as it might not be real. But now that we have received a phone call from you, I know it’s true!
“This morning, he was umming and ahhing wondering if he should go to work. I think we deserve a day off!
“It’s honestly hard to believe this is true! This really couldn’t have come at a better time.
“We started house hunting online last night as a joke, but I think we will buy our very own home!
“A honeymoon is definitely on the cards as well. We had to postpone our honeymoon so many times because of COVID.
“We will most likely treat ourselves to a night at the Gold Coast to celebrate!”
