After 35 years of playing the same numbers, two Carseldine work colleagues say they’ve spent the first half of the week celebrating their division one win in the weekend’s draw.
The pair held one of the 12 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4051 on Saturday 16 May 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $410,606.71.
Confirming their win with an official from the Lott today, the friends said they’ve been on cloud nine all week.
“We’ve been playing the same numbers for about 35 years and we watch the draw every Saturday night,” one of the friends explained.
“On the weekend I just saw our numbers appear one by one, it was incredible.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time to be honest, for both of us.
“It still hasn’t sunk in. We’re both just so excited.
“It’s worked out so well!”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their division one fortune, they said their working days together would continue.
“We’re both going to pay off our mortgages,” they explained.
“It will be excellent to never have to worry about a mortgage repayment ever again.
“We will keep working together, which we both enjoy.
“This has just changed our lives in an incredible way!”
The overwhelmed winners, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Carseldine News & Lotto, Shop C12, Carseldine Central Shopping Centre, 735 Beams Road, Carseldine.
Carseldine News & Lotto owner Andy Patel said he was so excited that his outlet was able to bring so much joy to the winning pair.
“This is the first time this outlet has sold a division one winning entry so we’re over the moon,” he said.
“It’s incredible knowing we have played a part in bringing a smile to the winners during this tough time.
“Congratulations to them! We wish them all the happiness and best for the future.”
In 2019, Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto and Saturday Gold Lotto created 203 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4051 on Saturday 16 May 2020 were 17, 26, 16, 11, 4 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 25.
Across Australia, there were 12 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4051 – four from Victoria, three from Queensland, two from South Australia and one each from New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 133 so far this calendar year, including 38 won by Golden Casket customers.
Between 1 January and 31 December 2019, there were 289 division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $333.41 million.
