A Thuringowa couple say they won’t know themselves when they never have to worry about another mortgage repayment or bill again after winning division one in the weekend’s draw.
The North Queensland players held one of the 12 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4051 on Saturday 16 May 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $410,606.71.
This morning, an official from the Lott made contact with the pair, who had no idea they were holding a division one winning entry.
“Oh my god,” the wife cried with happiness.
“I’m shaking. I’m really shaking!
“Oh wow. I feel faint. Oh god. I don’t know what to do.
“I don’t know if I should cry or laugh or faint.
“Thank you so much. That’s brilliant. We’ve been playing for so long and this is just amazing.
“It’s just so wonderful! We’ve dreamt of this for years and years - about what this we would be like to win the lottery.”
When asked what those dreams always entailed, the couple explained they would never stress about bills again.
“We can pay off our mortgage,” the woman laughed.
“We will be able to go on a nice holiday when we’re allowed to travel again. We’ve been wanting to do that for a long time.
“We can fix the house up. Maybe we will even be able to get a new car, that would be very exciting.
“We won’t know ourselves! It will take so much stress and worry away.
“This is just so wonderful I just cannot get over it.”
The happy couple, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased their winning marked 8-game entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4051 on Saturday 16 May 2020 were 17, 26, 16, 11, 4 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 25.
Across Australia, there were 12 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4051 – four from Victoria, three from Queensland, two from South Australia and one each from New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
