A Castle Hill man who spent two weeks blissfully unaware he’d won an incredible $1.4 million Saturday Lotto windfall shared he nearly fell out of bed when he eventually discovered the win.
The Sydney winner held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4309, drawn Saturday 5 November 2022. Each entry scored $1,402,743.29.
“I had no idea for so long!” he exclaimed when confirming his win with an official from The Lott.
“It was just chance that I discovered the win a couple of weeks after the draw.
“I was looking at the ticket in disbelief and immediately knew I had to wake my wife and show her!
“She looked at me as if to say, ‘Why are you waking me up so early?’ and I said, ‘You have to have a look at this!’
“We’re getting to retirement age, so she said, ‘Pass me your glasses’, but once she agreed we’d won, we went through all the emotions you can think of.
“First, it was shock, then disbelief, then amazement and finally acceptance!
“In all honestly, we’re still in a bit of a daze.
“It really is amazing! It just gives us security and ensures we can plan for the future.
“We also now can help our children and even extended family, such as our nieces and nephews.
“I just feel so grateful and quite humbled by the whole thing.
“It means so much!”
