After coming home from a party on Saturday night, a Mornington man planned to go straight to sleep â that was until he discovered heâd won $1.9 million in TattsLotto.
The Melburnian held one of the three division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4241, drawn Saturday 12 March 2022. Each entry takes home $1,967,364.65.
Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this morning, the winner admitted he was still coming to terms with the news.
âI found out around midnight on Saturday night,â he explained.
âI was still awake because weâd been at a party with our friends. When the party was over, and I was getting ready for bed, I decided to check my ticket, just out of curiosity, and thatâs when I found out.
âMy wife was in another room, so I screamed at her to come and check. It took me a couple of minutes to comprehend what I was seeing.
âI didnât expect it at all. You constantly dream of winning, but you never think itâll happen. But this is my reality now â I did win!
âI canât express my feelings. But I feel so much happiness. I could scream, Iâm so happy! Iâm bursting with joy!
âWe couldnât sleep after we found out, so we had some wine and stayed up to plan what to do with our prize.
âThe first thing weâve planned is to pay off our mortgage; then, Iâd like to consider starting my own business or getting a new job.
âI want my wife to relax, as she still works, so hopefully, this means she can either retire or go part-time. She loves spending time with the kids, so I know that would mean a lot to her.
âThen weâd love to travel overseas. Weâve been thinking we might make a big trip through Asia at some point.
âThis prize gives us the ultimate relief. Itâs made us incredibly happy. Thank you so much.â
The winning man purchased his entry at Spring Hill News, Shop 7 Springhill Shopping Centre 1370 Thompson Road, Cranbourne.
Spring Hill News owner Steve Hepponstall said his team was over the moon for his winner.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4241 on 12 March 2022 were 35, 29, 4, 41, 40 and 37, while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 21.
