A Lilyfield couple struck gold after asking a store clerk to choose their Instant Scratch-Its ticket for them, only for the ticket to deliver a sensational $100,000 top prize.
The Sydneysiders bought their top prize winning $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket from Lilyfield Friendly Grocer, 356-358 Catherine Street, Lilyfield.
When an official from The Lott spoke with the winning pair, they were still beaming with excitement.
“We’re really good today!” the winning woman laughed.
“We got these Instant Scratch-Its tickets after we won a small prize. It was $20 so I went back to the store and got two more tickets.
“It’s funny because I couldn’t decide which tickets to get so the shop manager actually picked them for me. He must’ve been lucky.
“We got home later that day and scratched it, and we were in total shock.
“We’re very excited. We’ll have a night out to celebrate and there’s a few things we need so it’ll be really helpful.”
“Thank you so much!” the winning man added.
“We’re going to take it easy for the rest of the day and let the good news sink in.”
Lilyfield Friendly Grocer manager Monica Devani said it was incredible to discover the team had sold their first top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“We’re very happy and excited to be a part of someone’s win,” she said.
“We're even more thrilled because it's our first time selling a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“We’ll be putting up posters and telling all our customers the great news. Hopefully we sell another one soon.”
