A Hobart couple is thanking their decision to try somewhere new after winning a $100,000 top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize winning $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Cat & Fiddle Lotto, Cat & Fiddle Arcade, Shop 47, 51 Murray Street, Hobart.
This morning an official from The Lott reached out to the chuffed couple, who were still in disbelief about their recent good fortune.
“We purchase a $5 Crosswords ticket every now and again, but this was the first time we’ve purchased our Instant Scratch-Its tickets from this outlet,” the winning woman admitted.
“This time, my husband scratched the Instant Scratch-Its ticket, and I was sitting right beside him.
“Once we realised how many words we’d uncovered, we kept checking the ticket in disbelief!”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their instant $100,000 windfall, the couple shared they wanted to take some time before making any firm decisions.
“I think we’re going to hold onto it for a little while. We’ll have a think about it and then decide. We don’t want to rush into anything,” she said.
Cat & Fiddle Lotto team leader Gemma Wilkinson said the team was excited to have sold their first top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“I didn’t quite believe it. We have been waiting and hoping this day would come,” she said.
“We’re going to celebrate like we’re the winners – streamers and balloons galore!
“This is our first time selling a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket, so we are very excited!
“This has been great for our customers and our team! We are all so happy for the lucky winner.
