The gold rush continues in Bendigo with a mystery player scoring $20 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw – but first, they need to check their ticket!

The Victorian player held the only division one winning entry nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1429 on Tuesday 6 July 2021. They take home a division one prize of $20 million.

The multi-million-dollar winning entry was not registered to a player card, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner. Instead, they have to wait for them to check their ticket.

The life-changing entry was purchased at Golden Square Newsagency, 303 High Street, Golden Square.

Golden Square Newsagency owner Bill Roberts said he was delighted to hear one of his customers had found their own treasure in Bendigo.

“It’s so awesome,” he admitted.

“The town is known for gold, and we’re called the Golden Square Newsagency, so I feel like we are rolling in gold!

“Exciting is an understatement.

“I couldn’t sleep a wink last night after I found out! It’s almost like I won myself.

“We’ve had about 30 division one winning entries sold at this store, so we couldn’t be prouder to add another to our list.

“We hope our winner discovers this exciting news soon, and we really hope it makes a positive difference to their life, especially considering the tough times we’ve all experienced recently.”

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was eager to unite the region’s newest multi-millionaire with their golden ticket.

“It’s likely this winner has been going about their day as normal with no idea they’ve just won $20 million!” she said.

“We’re urging all players who purchased an Oz Lotto ticket from Golden Square Newsagency to check their tickets today.

“Imagine how exciting it would be to realise you’ve just won $20 million! Your plans for the rest of the year could certainly change with those extra digits in your bank account!

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glovebox, because you could be the winner we are searching for.

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1429 on Wednesday 7 July 2021 were 42, 32, 21, 19, 44, 25 and 33, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 18.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1429 – the one from Victoria.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 227 so far this calendar year, including 89 won by Tatts customers.

In 2020, 24 division one winning Oz Lotto entries across Australia collectively won more than $234.15 million.

During this time, the biggest Oz Lotto jackpot was $50 million, which was won by a North Sydney woman in July.

Of the 24 Oz Lotto division one winning entries in 2020, eight landed in New South Wales, seven in Victoria, five in Western Australia, three in Queensland and one in South Australia.
