Eight days after the draw an Echuca local or visitor is yet to come forward to claim their Set for Life division one prize worth $4.8 million.
The mystery winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 1996, drawn Friday 22 January 2021. They take home the prize of $4.8 million, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.
However, the winning entry is unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news. Instead, they’re waiting for the ticketholder to come forward to claim their prize.
The winning entry was purchased at Echuca Square Lotto, 26 Nish Street, Echuca.
Echuca Square Lotto co-owner Gavin Sullivan said he had been sharing the good news with customers and encouraging them to check their tickets.
“There has been a great buzz around the store over the past few days with everyone wondering when the winner may discover the news,” he said.
“We are hoping the winner realises they are holding a winning entry soon! We can’t wait to break the good news to them.”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said she was hoping the winner discovered the news soon so they could enjoy their first 20K Day.
“The 15th of the month is what we call 20K Day because that’s the day $20,000 lands in our Set for Life division one winner’s bank accounts,” she said.
“Our mystery winner could be celebrating their first 20K Day this month if only they would check their ticket!
“We’re encouraging all players who purchased a Set for Life entry from Echuca Square Lotto to check their numbers on The Lott website, via The Lott app or at one of our friendly retail outlets.
“You could discover you’re Set for Life!”
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 1996 on Friday 22 January 2021 were 8, 35, 23, 30, 41, 34 and 16, while the supplementary numbers were 40 and 6.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 1996 – one from Victoria.
There have been 73 Set for Life division one winners nationally since the game began and three Set for Life division one winners so far this calendar year.
