An Emerald resident or visitor has started their week over $620,000 richer after scoring division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw – they just don’t know it yet.
The Central Queensland player held one of the eight division one winning entries across the country in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4085 on Saturday 12 September 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $621,499.92.
The elusive player did not register their entry to a Winners Circle card, so officials from the Lott have no way of contacting the winner.
The winning entry was purchased at newsXpress Central Highlands, Shop 26 Central Highlands Market Place, 2-10 Codenwarra Road, Emerald.
newsXpress Central Highlands owner Sally Murphy said she was excited some luck had come to the Central Highlands.
“There have a been a few big wins in the area recently so now it’s our turn to celebrate this exciting news!” she exclaimed.
“We are hoping our luck continues and we sell another winning ticket in one of the big jackpots this week.
“All of our customers have been so excited for us, even when they check their ticket and realise they aren’t the winner. In true country style, they have wished the unknown winner good luck and all the best for whatever lies ahead.
“This is the first time that we’ve sold a division one winning entry, so we are thrilled. We’ve sold a few division two winning entries over the eight years we’ve been here, but it’s great to crack the big one!”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said other winners had found their winning tickets in all sorts of nooks and crannies.
“We’ve had other winners tell us they’ve discovered their ticking hiding in plain sight like on the fridge door or on a pinboard in the office, while others have found them buried in the depths of their junk drawer,” she explained.
“Other winners have declared their shock when they realised they’d been carrying a winning ticket in their wallet, purse or handbag for days without checking it.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4085 on Saturday 12 September 2020 were 31, 28, 12, 39, 36 and 27 while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 24.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4085 – three from Victoria, three from Queensland and two from New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 280 so far this calendar year, including 75 won by Golden Casket customers.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 318 division one winning Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $346.12 million.
