A “flabbergasted” Coomera retiree plans to celebrate his sweet division one win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw by treating himself to a slice of cake this morning.
The Gold Coast player held one of the eight division one winning entries across the country in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4085 on Saturday 12 September 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $621,499.92.
The retiree was oblivious to his good fortune until an official from the Lott contacted him this morning.
“I’m amazed! I’m absolutely flabbergasted!” he exclaimed when his win was revealed.
“I never expected to win anything more than $20. When I head out to get a coffee this morning, I’m going to have some cake as well!
“This is absolutely brilliant. You’ve made my day!”
Moments after discovering he was a division one winner, the Gold Coast resident quickly began contemplating how he’d enjoy his prize.
“I’m not in shock, but I probably will be,” he declared.
“I won’t sleep tonight. I’ll be planning what to do. This lets me do things I wouldn’t normally be able to do.
“I’ll help my family out, and I’m going to spoil myself and get a new car.
“When we can travel around Australia, I’ll go on a big trip.”
